"Stretched across a Tuscan hill, Siena offers Italy's best medieval city experience. With red-brick lanes tumbling every which way, the town is an architectural time warp, where pedestrians rule and the present feels like the past." ~ Rick Steves

A morning with no agenda...
is the beginning of a very good day.
Randomness is what I enjoy most about traveling...
so, when the others headed to Florence for the day...
I surveyed Siena like a lost puppy...
searching with purpose down each lane,
while enjoying the unfamiliar along the way...
enjoying the sights
 and sounds
and smells at every turn.
Since food is taken very seriously in Italy
our time in Siena involved meals at the Italian tempo...
savored slowly around a table filled with memorable, inventive food.
Recommended by friends,
Osteria Le Logge is worth a spotlight and a visit
if you are an adventurous diner.
Most definitely my favorite in Siena.
Of course, in order to take Italy home,
it helps to add a few recipes to your personal cooking repertoire,
so we spent an evening with Lella...
at Scualo Di Cucina De Lella.

Ciao Siena.
On to Rome...
