Choices abound when it comes to dining in Chamonix...
especially if you want to experience the typical raclette or fondue.
If you are a lover of cheese you will be a lover of food choices in the French Alps.
One restaurant, located in the alley just down from our apartment, remained a mystery for a few days until we found out the only way to book a table was by phone.
No email, no website.
Clever...
because at that point it became a challenge,
and that fact alone lured us through the front door our last night in town.
Our peeks through the windows everytime we passed by
were enough to spark an interest but not enough to divulge all of the charming details.
This is where I remind you that the early bird gets the worm because as luck would have it, there was one table open for a couple of hours and since we are American they felt comfortable with our assurance that two hours was more than enough time.
We would be out before the first booking arrived.
Food quality and presentation...
were enough to add Maison Moustache et Filles to speed dial.
Hopefully, its secretive nature will preserve its quaintness.
Another strongly suggested addition to your itinerary while in Chamonix...
for live music and locally brewed beer...
Conveniently located near the hockey rink for before or after libations.
Word on the street is that you can get a pretty fine burger here but we were tardy in getting the word.

Chamonix is highly recommended for a stay in the French Alps and Chamonix All Year is the place to go for all of your planning needs. They handled everything; our incredible apartment rental, providing a Christmas tree, and arranging the paret Wilderness Adventure.
