We had barely boarded the train in Glasgow...
and within a blink of an eye we were pulling into Waverly station in Edinburgh,
which is tacitly becoming one of my favorite cities.
Our visit before had not allowed 'the foodie' to fully appreciate its elegant glimpse of the past.
Through one of many small cobblestoned alleys found throughout this city...
is a universal hope...
of Peace on Earth.
where we were greeted by a friendly doorman wearing,
what else...
a Missoni designed kilt.
Hotel Missoni is what I call, for all of you southerners,
a Neiman Marcus kind of hotel.
Neimans is known for its 'customer is always right' mentality...
they may charge a little more...
oh alright...
alot more...
but then you aren't bothered with 'add on' expenses.
Mini-bar in the room...
enjoy what you want, all included...
Nespresso coffee machine...
included...
Cold bottles of water magically left on your bedside table...
included...
full breakfast...
can be included, your choice.
Wifi (which in the UK is like owning a golden ticket)
included...
I could go on and on but I think you get the picture.
Find the one nearest you and check it out!
Meanwhile,
we made a few other...
as we explored the grassmarket area...
and had to tear ourselves away from
The Red Door Gallery whose blog is now a fave.
I scored this very cool wallet disguised as a folded up piece of paper like many others found in my purse.

'The foodie' found a few gems at Armstrong's Vintage...
and then spent quite a bit of time in...
under the watchful eye of Clarence, the resident water buffalo.
This second hand bookshop is the largest among many.
So much to see...
check back tomorrow for Edinburgh at night.
Have a wonderful Wednesday.
