We strategically planned our shopping hours at Harvey Nichols, which just happens to overlook St. Andrews Square,
 to coincide with a light show going on in the square and other spots around Edinburgh.

enLIGHTen uses high tech to illuminate famous quotes 
from the Scottish Enlightenment period onto buildings and structures.  
So...
at dusk we found a spot in the restaurant on Forth Floor, ordered a cocktail, and waited...
 only to realize that the 'show' could not be seen from our angle.
Walking around to the front of the Melville Monument...
we read these words...

by David Hume...of which I have to agree.Those of you who know me are giggling to yourself right now...because I do love a good healthy argument.
Our walk back to the hotel provided even more light shows...

in the sky without any technology at all.Yes...this city is special.
