"Madam President, speaking here in Dublin Castle it is impossible to ignore the weight of history, as it was yesterday when you and I laid wreaths at the Garden of Remembrance." ~ Queen Elizabeth II

When you only have one day to get the feel of a city...
as corny as it looks...
and terrifying for those who lose sleep over how NOT to look like a tourist...
I am a fan of these buses.

With the hop on and off ease above ground...
we were able to see...
areas of town we would have otherwise missed.
The Olympia Theatre looks like a place to plan a trip around...
and has quite a line up in the near future.
From atop the bus...
we also had a nice view of St. Patrick's Cathedral...
with the current building completed between 1254-1270.
At one of our hopping off points we stumbled across a part of the...

which is a small part of the medieval wall completely surrounding the city...
map found HERE which is a great site for kids...
built in 1585.

For those of you who prefer to hoof it...
this walking tour of
Old Dublin City would be a 3 hour glimpse into the amazing history of this city.

Transportation options are numerous, and one of the blogs I have been following, written by a current resident of Dublin, offers transportation advice HERE.

Tomorrow...
we will explore where we spent most of our time...
enjoying the many flavors of Dublin.

Happy Thursday!
