“London is a roost for every bird.” ~ Benjamin Disraeli

While in London...
we dropped by old friends like Monmouth Coffee...
as shown on their website...
however...
here is what it looked like the morning we were there...
with a line around the corner filled with people just like us who wanted a 'cup of monmouth' and would stand in line to get it...

and Colbeh for some naan bread that whispers my name...
as it bakes in the oven nestled in the corner.

We also discovered some new treasures...
like Ben's Cookies...
modeled here by our friend and new Teach For America teacher...
whose name happens to be Ben!
Those yummy treats came in handy as we explored London.

Another restaurant new to us, which made our 'the best' list for a few reasons...
is Ottolenghi...
located in Islington where...
the art was minimal and cool...
the coffee hit the spot...
(after enjoying mochas all across the UK, Ben also added the mocha to 'the best' list)
as did the creamy eggs and salmon...
and the homemade nutella!
Now that's what I'm talkin about!
Just look at those chunks of hazelnuts...
and the butter...
British butter as a whole is incredible...
but this made 'the best' list.

Toasters are on the tables for you to make your toast just like you like it...
with butter or nutella...
or as a smashing combo!

'The editor' was giving me lessons on food photography which my camera has a setting for...
unbeknownst to me!

Speaking of 'the editor'...
I am still waiting on his photos and videos to share with you.

Hopefully...
today...
okay, okay...
maybe this week...
since he is in the process of moving to a new apartment...
I'll cut him some motherly slack.

Happy August!
