When the photo challenge for this week landed in my inbox,
I did not have to think long before

came to mind.
As we walked through the 2,711 concrete slabs…meant to be confusing and disorienting...
a chill crept up my spine.
Any reminder of the Holocaust and the atrocities during WWII…
is Eerie indeed.
In response to the memorial for six million Jews,
Martin Walser, a German novelist,
referred to it as a "ceaseless presentation of our shame".
A heart rending 4.7 acre sloping field,
and another example of what makes Berlin so intriguing.
