“Cities were always like people, showing their varying personalities to the traveler. Depending on the city and on the traveler, there might begin a mutual love, or dislike, friendship, or enmity. Where one city will rise a certain individual to glory, it will destroy another who is not suited to its personality. Only through travel can we know where we belong or not, where we are loved and where we are rejected.” ― Roman Payne, Cities & Countries

My fingers have a confession to make.
They have been so busy snapping photos,
the tale of our family odyssey has been moved to the back burner
until they have a moments rest.
So, another Thursday will pass without progress.
At least I have my fingers to blame.

Meanwhile,
although Brussels did not blow me away,
it does have its central square surrounded by...
 the Town Hall...
 Guildhalls...
 Maison du Roi or
King's House…
 or Broodhuis
depending on which language you speak...
 and even more Guildhalls...

forming The Grand Place.
Every two years in August, over 500,000 begonias
decorate the 19,000 square foot space.

Over near the palace,
we discovered the Musical Instrument Museum
where more hours were needed to fully appreciate
and BOZAR, the Center for Fine Arts,
where a lot is going on.
One regret is not waiting for ten minutes to see what happens at the top of the hour.
Since we were short on time,
we whizzed through as many areas as possible...
to get a feel for the city.

Something tells me Brussels might deserve another look see,
 to fully appreciate,
so I am withholding any snap judgements.

Happy Thursday.
