My Aberdeen Monday...

Don't you just love it when outward appearances are blown away 

the moment you take the time and energy to look inside?

Time and time again I have failed to follow my own advice and lazily 'judge a book by its cover'.

It would have been a huge mistake to continue to pass by…

what looks like any other pub across Scotland.

The characters on Cheers were right.

There is something to be said about hanging out where everyone knows your name.

Upon entering the Abergeldie Bar,

we observed quite a few customers on a first name basis with the bartenders,

so when forty expats invaded the place for an AWA happy hour,

 the place was abuzz with new faces, 

maybe even a few new 'regulars'.

We hung around to enjoy a real gem hidden amongst the pool table and dart area.

Bangkok Palace prepares the most authentic Thai food in Aberdeen 

and has a few tables inside the bar for dining in.

Take away is also available.

It's a cash only kind of place.
