"To give thanks in solitude is enough. Thanksgiving has wings and goes where it must go. Your prayer knows much more about it than you do." ~ Victor Hugo

Last Thanksgiving we were sharing a turkey dinner
amongst fellow American expats…
in the gym of the International School in Aberdeen, Scotland
where they even managed to have American football on the big screen.
Proof that thankful hearts can celebrate anywhere…
elbow to elbow with complete strangers.
is where my heart resides,
regardless of where my body is,
although, both are in Texas for Thanksgiving 2013.
Yippee!

The pelicans, who have taken up residence on the lake,
look so content in their winter whites
peaceful, as they glide up and down, in search for lunch.
Moments like this take my breath away…
and I find myself content…
with a long list of blessings to be thankful for.

Since next week will be filled with happy cleaning, and cooking, and collaborating
in preparation for our Thanksgiving celebration with family and friends,
my wishes for a contented season of giving thanks are flying your way.

I am truly thankful for those of you who stop by Traveling Simile
every now and again.

Have a wonderful week...
"Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever."
1 Chronicles 16:34
