Birthday celebrations are the best, don't you think?
As timing would have it,
we were home for two great ones and fortunate to have our nephew around on his big day.
Surprises were everywhere,
even innocently lighting up the top of his cake
as he tried over and over and over to blow out those pesky birthday candles.
After realizing there was something fishy going on,
he resorted to other tactics.
Headed to the family photos hall of fame, this snapshot captured a priceless moment.
Watching my parents with their grandchildren is such a joy
and further proof that grandparents will do just about anything for them.
Look closely in the background and you will see another reason why this made the top five.
Ren Man is totally missing the photo shoot going on
and did not care one bit as he crossed over to vacay mode.
Since 'the nephew' was born so close to another birthday,
we were able to score some fireworks...
which seem to get more creative every year...
and readily available to the general public.
Quite spectacular, actually.
A great prelude to America's birthday a few days later.
