As family and friends began to trickle into Austin for the wedding festivities...

we started making memories at a kick-off event held at Clive Bar in the Rainey Street area of downtown.

Walking distance from the hotels,

or my preferred mode of transportation...

the friendly pedi-cabs,

this area was an ideal spot for the young 'uns to begin their evening.

We even caught a glimpse of the infamous bats at dusk.

And if location wasn't enough...

 what sold us on Clive was the freedom to bring in food from elsewhere to compliment the fabulous drinks prepared by the friendliest bartenders in town.

'The editor', aka the groom, could not take time out from his Moscow Mule to smile for his mother.

Puh-lease???

Of course, those of you who have followed this blog for any amount of time know that Ren Man does NOT make a trip to Austin without enjoying pizza and a Greek salad from Home Slice.

'The foodie' completed our meal with homemade oreos.

Oh ye-ah!
