My Aberdeen Mondays...

We interrupt the Barcelona Lovefest...
to move the spotlight on Aberdeen...
where this week...
we shine the light on Belmont Street, mentioned a few weeks ago here.

It is our favorite spot for date night,
which usually consists of catching a movie at
The Belmont where there is always a good selection of independent films...
 and a bar...
slash cafe for meeting up with friends.

Tuesday nights are movie quiz night...
where teams are formed and considerable time spent choosing their name.

There is quite a selection of restaurants on this street alone or around the corner on Little Belmont, but the ones we return to again and again...
 for a casual dinner...
Beautiful Mountain for delicious tapas and also our #2 choice for breakfast in Aberdeen (more on #1 another Monday),

and Pizza Express, conveniently located right next door to the cinema.
Interestingly enough...
during peak hours...
reservations are strongly encouraged at both of these popular places.

There are other gems...

Books and Beans for a coffee while perusing the bookshelves filled with half price finds...
and Juniper, a family run shop filled with unique gifts.

You may have noticed the steeples of several church buildings on Belmont, of which one was referred to as
"The Belmont Chapel of Ease".
While each of these beautiful buildings now house restaurants or bars...
the church City of Joy...
meets in the Belmont Theatre.
Go figure.

Happy Monday!
