"It was by accident that I got into the fish image. My colleagues were starting to replay Greek temples. Y'know in the post-modern thing, I don't know, when was that... the 80s. That was hot, everybody was re-doing the past. I said, y'know, Greek temples are anthropomorphic. And three hundred million years before man was fish. If you wanna, if you gotta go back, if you're insecure about going forward... Why are you stopping at the Greeks? So I started drawing fish in my sketchbook. and then I started to realize that there was something in it." ~ Frank Gehry

Our view of Port Olimpic while absorbing every morsel of Barcelona...

was compliments of...
(one of few things complimentary)

44 stories of "blue glass and exposed steel" built in time for visitors of the 1992 Olympics.
Refined elegance...
and a friendly staff
helped gloss over the crowd in town for Semana Santa.

Our close proximity to the massive fish sculpture by Frank Gehry...

provided a glimpse into Jonah's perspective before ending up in the belly of the whale.
Seen from beaches up and down the coast of Barcelona,
it is quite impressive by day...
but becomes a bit more intimate at the hotel by night.

Hotel Arts is a beautiful hotel...
offering a breathtaking view of a full moon...

rising over the marina.

Happy Thursday!
