My mantra throughout my yoga class is... |
photo by meeko Being new to the whole yoga thing, has been an unexpected admiration of the human body and its capabilities of which I have been fully 'unaware'. That's the part I absolutely love... becoming aware that I can move my third toe all by itself... if I bring my awareness to that toe. Now, yoga is so much more, but as you know, I am easily entertained. Yoga... meets just down the road a bit, in the Queen's Cross Church, and is timed perfectly for my week, because the focused breathing and stretching works overtime removing the toxins from the pounding of my body the day before on the tennis court. Where the tennis court offers enjoyable stress of pushing my body to its limit and competition, yoga provides a calming return to balance and pays no attention to ego. Yoga to the People's mantra... gives you an idea of the tone of the class. However, not everyone is a fan as seen in one example of articles recently published across the world. |

Popped ribs, brain injuries, blinding pain. Are the healing rewards worth the risks?
Being a newbie and all,
I am not sure I have a say but my instructor is constantly reminding us that yoga is not a competition,
your ego should not be involved,
listen to your body and what it is telling you.
Something that may be missing in some of the classes mentioned in the articles.
Yogatoday is one of the top ten blogs on yoga to help you get started if you do not have a yoga class in your area.
