While in Edinburgh a few weeks ago...
well, more than a few weeks ago...
because we were unable to visit during the fabulous and famous...
Fringe Festival...
which takes the city over for the month of August.
So, it must have been way back in July when we visited a few suggestions from my trusty and well-worn copy of...
Scotland the Best...
and...
as usual...
were in complete agreement with most of the reviews and allotted tick marks.
Under the heading of Cool Bars...
we checked out 99 Hanover St....
filled with comfy...
vintage furniture...
and true to the header...
the coolest gold framed T.V. projected onto the wall...
That is 'The Editor' scratching his head trying to figure out... where he can find a frame that big for his pad back in California! |
For dinner, out of sheer curiosity...
we chose The Dogs, one of Dave Ramsden's pet projects...
and though the restaurant itself was simple...
with a chilled out vibe...
and homey feel...
the food was good enough.
The fact that I cannot remember what I had to eat...
shows more than just my sometimes forgetfulness.
Breakfast the next morning...
was delightful...
as we dined out on the tiny patio...
of the very quaint...
Urban Angel, on Hanover Street.
Ren Man's french toast hit the spot...
as did my eggs with salmon...
while the creative spirit...
found throughout the cafe...
puts it on the list of places to visit again.
Yes, Edinburgh has even more discoveries waiting for us...
I just feel it!
