"If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world." ~ J.R.R. Tolkien

As mentioned before on this blog...
our travels are often punctuated with great food...
with a ginormous appreciation of fresh ingredients.

Stavanger...
of course...
offers fresh seafood...
right off the boat...
at the docks.
It makes me wish we were staying somewhere with a kitchen.

Nevertheless...
we did discover a few restaurants worth mentioning.

Never, have I seen hummus looking so grand...
than when it was served at...
where you can get some pretty tasty Turkish food...
creatively presented.
Another discovery...
'manned' by women...
who know their way around the kitchen...
and serve up a decent...
pad thai.

Seeing that the menu was most descriptive in Norwegian,
I was thankful that there were some references in English as well.  However, the friendly waitress spoke only restaurant English and very little Norwegian.
So...
pad thai was familiar and required no translation.
The food being served to other tables...
looked delicious as well.

The weather here has been sunny and in the upper 50's, low 60's for the last three days...
and my garden is still filled with flowers...
so...
I hope you have a rosy weekend!
