Queen Victoria was such a trend setter and made the Highlands of Scotland a place to retreat for summer vacation.  

Hence, the purchase of Balmoral, where the royal family still gathers for summer holiday.  

You too can vacation nearby...
at the Balmoral Castle and Estate holiday cottages.

Anywho...
the Queen would have been biting her tongue...
as I managed to do...
while driving through the amazing highlands of Scotland...
with three 20 somethings playing some bird game on their i-phones!!!

At what age do you begin to savor the view out your window?

We took to the rails...
and travelled to Inverness...

for a few nights...
where Kingsmills Hotel was our base while exploring...
