As we walked through the garden of our hotel...
this unique flower was really showing off...
and its petals had this little up-do going on.
It is a Lilium Bellingham Hybrid and another fine example of how amazing our world is.
Taking the advice of our new artist friend, we explored the northern paths of the island sometimes referred to as Eilean a' Cheò (The Misty Isle).
We have enjoyed clear sunny skies...
We have enjoyed clear sunny skies...
and the promise of a rugged coast...
was impressive even through our windshield...
until we were able to stop...
to eventually make dynamite...
and peat was dug up and dried in the summer
to be used as a free source of fuel in the winter.
All of this fuel in the ground does wonders for...
the landscape we were enjoying...
as we walked...
to the cliffside...
to take it all in...
and pose for the camera...
Memories!

As we walked down...
the sound of falling water...
made its debut...
and we were back on the dwindling path...
where we slowly maneuvered the northern loop...
to the Skye Cottage Museum.
We love the brilliant idea for keeping your roof in place
when high winds come a blowin'...
and my personal favorite...
the creative dangling model.
I wonder if this would pass a windstorm inspection in Texas?
Speaking of Texas,
that is one cool longhorn,
stylin' the hippie look.
He would love Austin!
As we head south on the northern loop...
our time on the island...
was ticking away...
however, we squeezed in a very late lunch
overlooking the harbour,
in the quaint town of Portree
which also happens to be the capital of Skye.
What a road trip!
It has taken five days to share our week-end adventure,
and it is Friday already...
road trip anyone?
Looks like fun!
