As we came down Glen Shiel, along the Five Sisters ridge,  our first view was Loch Duich, only to be trumped by the Loch Alsh with the Skye Bridge in view...

and we crossed the gateway to Isle of Skye.

Pulling into the driveway of our 'cozy double' for the night...

at Duisdale House,

I'm thinking we made the right choice.

We dropped our bags...

 and headed out... 

down, up and around a one way path...

in search of an artist ...

whose Blue Studio ...

 amongst the homes on this island...

would blend perfectly with these bluebells...

or beneath this sky.

As we approached the studio...

everything was as it should  be...

 simple, filled with incredible artwork, and, well,  blue.

Donald Mackenzie, grew up on Northern Skye but has lived in London and Paris and has settled here in Southern Skye.  

He was more than happy to give some tips to Ren Man for our remaining time on the island.

This panoramic landscape ...

captures beautifully in watercolor what we have witnessed all across the coastal highlands.

Our encounter with Blue Studio and its creator could have taken place years ago, before credit cards ruled the world,

and life was at a much slower pace...

back when people trusted each other.

The simplicity of it all was inspiring...

we left a cash deposit on Saturday...

mailed a check for the balance on Monday...

and you will never believe this...

but it just arrived by post...

no kidding...

Driving away from  Blue Studio, Ren Man had the brilliant idea of taking a live photo of the scene we had just purchased...

was just as beautiful... 

on the way out...

and on the main road...

back to the hotel.

This sculpture near our room made me smile.
