Weekly Photo Challenge: Perspective

Serendipity strikes again.
After booking our flight to Venice,
we were pleased to find out their Mardi Gras celebration would kick off that same weekend.
As Sunday approached…
the crowds became dotted with dramatic flair…
providing the perfect shot for this weeks photo challenge...
where all is not as it seems.
Meanwhile…
although the festivities seemed to be geared towards the locals…
we tourists joined right in.
Funny enough,
before traveling to Venice,
I happened upon a blog of someone training for this rowing event.

Fun times…
until we needed to get the waterbus to the airport and had to go around all of these festivities!
Oh well…
we were on a boat…
cruising through the waterways of Venice...
all was good!

Have a wonderful Wednesday.

My Aberdeen Monday...

'Laissez les bons temps rouler'
or better known as

Mardi Gras kicked off a wee bit early in Aberdeen...
and, as in years past, was full of fun and merriment.

Under the watchful eye and tutelage of Louisiana natives in our AWA group,
the chef whips up authentic Cajun food and drink for those abroad and missing the carnival season.
Our Krewe of Tartan blended two cultures beautifully
and even introduced us to a new children's book.

With Hurricanes flowing, Ren Man and I decided to skip the round trip taxi fare
and took advantage of the convenience of the Old Mill Inn
being an inn and all.

After our night as the tartan krewe,
we felt right at home…
and the fireside breakfast, included in the nights lodging,
was a hearty start to a gray and rainy morning.

Only five miles west of Aberdeen,
The Old Mill Inn has the perfect...
waiting for you.

In addition to being a family run country inn,
they provide a fabulous venue for your special event.

If you are looking for entertainment this weekend
check out their quiz night.

Happy Monday.
