"There is a saying that all roads lead to Rome. We set out on 3.375.746 journeys to check if that was really true." ~ Roads to Rome, Moovellab

"At least for Europe it is obvious: all roads lead to Rome! You can reach the eternal city on almost 500,000 routes from all across the continent... Maybe all roads lead to Rome, because there is a Rome on every continent? During further research we found out that there actually is a city called Rome (or Roma) on every continent of the world."
How cool is that?
Another phrase, 'when in Rome'...
is used often as I travel around the world,
however, in Rome it takes on a whole new meaning.
Let me choose my cloak and walk to the coffee vending machine for a rich cup of coffee.

We were simultaneously...
overwhelmed by the history...
and the unfortunate limitations...
of only twenty four hours.
Needless to say...
we hopped on the Hop on Hop off bus...
and absorbed as much as possible as we inched through Rome traffic...
before hopping off and strolling the narrow lanes...
of this ancient city.
Trevi Fountain was the one spot on my list because...
well you know...
Three Coins in a Fountain.
"According to the tradition, once you are in front of the 300-year-old fountain, you should turn around and toss a coin over your shoulder and into the water. While you are doing that, don’t forget to make a wish – in this case, it can only be to return to Rome."

and what happens to it.  You can also listen to Dean Martin sing as you read this post.

Meanwhile,
every other item on my list had to do with food. Ha!
Every small cafe beckoned (ceiling alert)...
as we searched for Pane & Salame to kick off the evening...
followed by pasta...
freshly made...
by this ray of sunshine.
Short but oh so sweet...
Arrivederci Roma!
