Syntagma, or Constitution Square is where the Evzones guard the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in front of the Parliament building.

Our timely arrival was a bit early because there happened to be a special ceremony that day.

Meanwhile,

we had some time to spare, so Ren Man gave in to the man selling food for the birds...

as I sang that sad song from Mary Poppins.

I remember feeling so sorry for the Bird Lady, but I was laughing hysterically at Ren Man.

We then had the opportunity for a photo op with the guard, and while I was so close, I just wanted to see how sharp his sabre felt, 

and was yelled at by the head guard.

All the while, such composure.

And then,

they arrived.

followed by the dignitaries...

and military units.

Another wonderful experience in Athens.
