Weekly Photo Challenge: Thankful

Nestled in the hills of the Odenwald low mountain range...
Heidelberg has caught the attention of many artists...
James Webb, 1877
and postcard worthy scenes abound.

Outside our highly recommended hotel...
this fellow lodger found the perfect place to enjoy his coffee  while overlooking the Neckar River...
that runs through the city causing many floods over the years.

Another benefit of shorter daylight hours...
is being up to see the sunrise over the mountains...
at 9:30 a.m.,
and for a few moments...
Ren Man and I roamed the streets...
in the quite whisper of a city waking up.
All of the sudden...
we came across these cheerful ladies who seemed to have had gluhwien with breakfast.
Whatever...
their enthusiasm was contagious and the perfect photo for the challenge this week.
I am thankful for the ability to travel and see smiles around the world...
the universal language.
and our day went uphill...
from there...
literally...

Tomorrow...
up we go...
to the castle.

Have a wonderful Wednesday.
