“To read the papers and to listen to the news... one would think the country is in terrible trouble. You do not get that impression when you travel the back roads and the small towns do care about their country and wish it well.” ~ Charles Kuralt

Having grown up in a small town of 2,000...
all things little, tiny, diminutive, etc. etc. etc.,
appeal to my fond memories...
and Marblehead, MA...
with its 19,800 or so residents seems huge...
until it is compared to the city 18 miles to the south, home to over 600,000 city proper residents.
Founded in 1629...
Marblehead has retained its quaintness
 and small town feel...
experienced at The Driftwood...
a local cafe where candy canes hang from a fishing net
over the bar filled with locals
who walk in and order 'the regular'.
Love it!
Thanks to our tour guide, Victoria.

Have a merry Monday!
