"Originally, a tapa was a piece of bread set on top of a wine glass to ward off flies and hunger. Today, a few tapas can make a full-fledged meal." ~ Time Travel

We discovered a gem of a restaurant in London...
where we shared our meal...
completely made up of tapas...
with friends...

and let the Italian waiter guide our choices.

Opera Tavern more than exceeded the reviews...
and became more exciting with each plate set out in front of us...
delectable courgette flowers stuffed with goat's cheese and drizzled with honey...
fiocco del prosciutto from Sicily...
chorizo with piquillo and marjoram from the charcoal grill...
guindilla peppers...
and the cheese...
oh my goodness...
the cheese...
three manchegos with quince...
and my first ewes' milk cheese...
a truffle pecorino from Tuscany.

Still to arrive...
pan seared scallop with pea puree...
and chargrilled chicken with butternut squash and spinach...
and to finish us off...
a rhubarb pannacotta...
and a strawberry cream that was a dream.

I am a fan of this tapas dining...
the food arrives slowly...
and the sharing with others has that family dinner feel.

If London is in your travel plans...
Opera Tavern is a very tasty night out.
