we finally made it to Glasgow...
where we stayed in the Merchant City area of town...
historically known as Trongate...
which after the 1750's became home to wealthy 'tobacco lords', prosperous in shipping, tobacco, sugar and tea...
and warehouses where goods were fabricated to be sent across the pond to the Americas.
Glasgow, the largest city in Scotland...
is a working mans city...
filled with creative efforts to preserve their history.
Cafe Nero, used to be the ticket booth for the St Enoch subway station nearby.
This week I will be sporadically...
meaning today...
maybe tomorrow...
maybe not...
sharing our incredible time in Glasgow...
as we head to sunny California...
to visit with our newly ♡engaged♡ son...
'The Editor' and his beautiful fiancee'.
Today...
I want to give a huge shout out to each...
out there who has been working tirelessly over the last few weeks to prepare for another year of educating our youth.
"Education is not the filling of a bucket,
but the lighting of a fire."
W. B. Yeats
Teachers...
thank you for your choice to teach...
and for your daily efforts to light the fire of discovery...
in each of your students.
Have a great year!
