We were a little surprised while living in Mexico City to find that this celebration is really not as big of a deal as it is in America ...

unless you live in the Puebla state...

The 5th of May marks the 1862 battle of Puebla...
the defeat of the French army...
a symbol of national unity...

Meanwhile...
it is a great reason to have a Mexican Fiesta...

I really wanted to try those Haggis tacos...
however...
I decided to work with what I had available and I don't keep haggis on hand...
yet...
