"Sydney is rather like an arrogant lover. When it rains it can deny you its love and you can find it hard to relate to. It's not a place that's built to be rainy or cold. But when the sun comes out, it bats its eyelids, it's glamorous, beautiful, attractive, smart, and it's very hard to get away from its magnetic pull." ~ Baz Luhrmann

No sooner had we dropped our bags at the hotel in Sydney,
and the skyline disappeared in the rear view mirror...
as we headed to Watsons Bay.
The Watsons Bay walk offers massive views
of the blue, blue, blue horizon of the Pacific Ocean.
However, on the western shore,
the Beach Club is the perfect place
to grab a seat to watch the show.
With the cityscape as a backdrop,
the setting sun is the main attraction.
We moved next door to Doyles for dinner...
 and the final act.
Five generations of the Doyle family...
have been serving seafood at Watsons Bay since 1885.
Quite impressive.
Looking back over our shoulder
as we waited for the ferry ride back to the hotel,
we savored the exclamation point to our first night in Sydney.

More on our Sydney love coming right up...
but for now...
enjoy the truth of the empty cross.
