"Here today, up and off to somewhere else tomorrow! Travel, change, interest, excitement! The whole world before you, and a horizon that's always changing!" ~ Kenneth Grahame, The Wind in the Willows

Ren Man and I took advantage of a free weekend
and ventured a couple of hours south of Bangkok to the city of
and enveloped ourselves in the warm embrace
 of the people of Thailand.
Putahracsa was a very good choice
for its location to town
and its many well thought out conveniences.
We walked to the night market…

where the action was just getting started.

We were able to enjoy our first Thai cooking class…
which begins with a trip to the market with the Chef,
who answered all of our questions
about unfamiliar fruits and vegetables,
 and all of those peppers.
Once back at the hotel,
the instruction began.
Under the watchful eye of our instructor,
our creations became our lunch…
and tasted even better than they looked
since we were able to control the spice level.  Ha!

Upon check out the next day,
we received a cookbook with our photo on the front with Chef,
along with all of the recipes offered in the cooking experience.

Fortunately, a beach side BBQ was planned for the evening…
and as the sun set behind us…
we settled in for an amazing spread…
of deliciousness.

All of the personal details are what makes Putahracsa such a gem.
It's those special touches we enjoyed our entire stay,
including my top five.
1.  A small cooler of cold water is delivered poolside
2.  First time ever…a hair band was included with the shower cap (brilliant)
3. We love the in room lounge clothing for men and women
4. Side showers are perfect for those who do not want to get their hair wet!
5. Watermelon granita is served after check out.
(we were served cold passion fruit tea when we arrived)

Being only two to three hours away,
depending on traffic,
Hua Hin is a great little getaway
and Putahracsa has stolen our heart for accommodations.

Meanwhile,
we are just getting started on our Thailand immersion.
