"If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world." – J.R.R. Tolkien

We absolutely love Copenhagen because let's face it...
 Copenhagen tastes really good.

Known for its culinary prowess,
this foodie city is best enjoyed if you are prepared to pay more for your food.
You definitely need to appreciate the value of a perfectly prepared meal...
more than your hoarded gold...
or brace yourself for an eye-popping migraine everytime you receive the bill.
Just being real.

Dop...
a food truck selling organic hot dogs...
was posted on my Everplaces to try out.
Of course, now it has moved to the 'been there, loved it'...
and I now have a new way to serve my moms bread and butter pickles.
The saddest part about being in Copenhagen for only two nights
is being restricted to trying only two restaurants for dinner.

Our first night, we enjoyed a long, unrushed meal at Höst (pronounced Hoost)
where my mouth was pleasantly introduced to pickled green strawberries.
I immediately broke into my Joey voice...
"Well hello pickled green strawberries...How you doin'?"
Ren Man ordered well, so I had food envy most of the evening,
although everything was inventive and tasty.

Meanwhile...
the meal that stands out and has raised the bar for every meal since...
is the restaurant with a manifest.
You've got to love a restaurant with a manifest.
"Relae works on focused and tasty food, no fuss, no huss...
because it's worth it."
Ordering is easy...
with meat...
or not.
You can pair with wine...
or not.
Although, you do not want to miss out on meeting the sommelier
who explains with pure passion how each wine choice compliments its pairing.
From the first bite of bouquet of herbs enveloping pistachio paste...
to the final refreshing dish of granite' shown above...
each course was an adventure for the taste buds.
Maybe not for everyone,
but most definitely one of the best restaurants we have experienced...
and our world is merrier for it.

Happy Thursday.
