"Often, the less there is to justify a traditional custom, the harder it is to get rid of it." ~ Mark Twain

I am sadly missing our annual holiday tradition...
a mother-daughter trip to the Nutcracker Market held in Houston for the last 32 years.
Years ago...
when 'the foodie' was still in middle school...
she and I would make a day of it,
trying our very best to wander up and down every aisle before the doors closed.
Each year there is always the 'BIG' item that everyone rushes to buy...
but there are certain items we would never think of leaving without.
#1  tamales from the Texas Tamale Company,
#2  Minnie Beasley's Lace Cookies,
#3  something for the home from Paul Michael and The Round Top Collection.

A few friends made a wonderful discovery here in Scotland that filled the holiday shopping void yesterday and I will share on Monday...
but mostly I have been cyber window shopping where a few gift ideas caught my eye.
I even added Christmas music while online.

Here are a few Friday finds...
Bobble Heads Groupon is a great deal and good for another day...
A Scratch Off Map for your world travelers...
and any party could use this entertainment on many levels...

Happy Weekend!
