"Named in honor of the patron saint of music and poetry..." ~ Hotel St. Cecilia

It's official...
I am a huge fan of everything Marfa.
That is not to say I actually 'get' all aspects of Marfa...
but I am truly grateful for those who have
 'marked their spot' and
'left their mark'
on this city with two thousand locals.

One of those creatives who has sprinkled her magical dust over the landscape is Liz Lambert, who also has properties in Austin and most recently, San Antonio.

So...
before delving into Marfa,
a little spotlight on one of her amazing hotels in Austin...
and our abode for a weekend...
while in town finalizing details for the fall wedding.

From the moment we eyed the LP records displayed in the reception area available to 'spin' in the privacy of each guestroom...

where turndown service entails a calming bedtime tray left each evening...

and the day begins with amazing scones to rival any I have enjoyed in the UK
with, of course, Jo's coffee...
both enjoyed on the balcony overlooking downtown.
Of all public spaces at Hotel St. Cecilia, it is here at the pool where a sense of community just happens.
Some believe the SOUL of the hotel is in the amazing bar...

and that may be true the rest of the year...
but in the summer...
it can be experienced poolside.

Definitely a spot you want to check out for a memorable weekend in Austin.

Check back tomorrow for another of Lambert's unique spots.

Happy Monday.
