"I often think that the night is more alive and more richly colored than the day." ~ Vincent Van Gogh

You know, of course...
from posts herehere, here,and here...
that I Amsterdam.

Trying to cram as much into our weekend as possible,
we quickly dropped our bags off at the hotel and headed to the Van Gogh Museum...
open til 10:00 p.m. on Fridays with live music floating through the air in the central hall where people are mingling about on lounge chairs.
The walk from the museum to our dinner destination still displayed lingering evidence of dusk...
even though it was almost 10:00 p.m.

Pulling back the velvet curtains we entered the packed Restaurant Red and were told our table was just finishing up,
but please enjoy a cocktail on the house while we wait.

The canals at night are enchanting and the weather was pleasant...
so the wait was too short...
although followed up with the best steak we have tasted in a long, long time...
and lobster perfectly broiled 'chef style'.
We even ate the fries like the Dutch...
dipped in mayonnaise.
The menu at Red is short...
Tourdados (steak)
or
Lobster...
so you don't have many decisions to make
and they have perfected them both.
Soooo worth the wait.

Incredible meal in a very cool restaurant.
Incredible night in Amsterdam.

Happy Tuesday!
